Open Yourself up to Receiving Love through the Heart Chakra.
I want to start by providing a little bit of context about the Heart Chakra before we dive into the healing lesson for this month.
If you’ve been following our journey through the 7 Chakras, we are now at the fourth chakra, for those of you just joining us, welcome!
The Heart Chakra is a pretty big one, so no better time than now to jump on the train!
The fourth chakra is the bridge between the chakras that live in the physical world and the chakras that live in the spiritual world. It is the center of the seven chakras, with three below and three above, and is green in color.
Questions to ask oneself as it pertains to the Heart Chakra:
- What do you have an affinity for?
- What do you naturally love?
- How does the universe love you?
- How do you receive universal love?
In the study of the Chakras, generally, energy is received from the back and energy is given from the front.
This is rather significant because when we speak about learning how to open yourself up to receiving love- often- we confuse the feeling of giving with receiving. It is much easier to give love then it is to receive. So many people are striving to find love both within themselves and with others, so many people are starving for the feeling of being loved. Far too often we deplete ourselves of receiving because we’re unaware of just how much we’ve been focused on giving.
This is especially true if you are empathic, and if you are reading these blogs then there is a good chance you are.
Energetically, that means that the front of your heart chakra is always reaching out and feeling what other people are feeling.
You become very in tune with other people’s wants and needs, and going back the second chakra, you become so focused on what other people need that you don’t know what you want or what brings you joy.
Learning how to receive universal love is the first step.
You receive loving energy through the back of your heart chakra, between your shoulder blades.
You need to bring energy into your heart; to fill yourself up.
If you are constantly giving without filling up and receiving, then you will eventually wear yourself out and you will have no energy to give to yourself or to others. More importantly, you’re inevitably blocking the channels to receive love.
The lesson of this blog, question to ask yourself:
How do you fill up?
Moving energy to the back of your heart is the first step.
Imagine a warm hand or warm water on your back, or even imagine a rainbow, or flock of hummingbirds going into your back.
Do this every day, multiple times a day, and notice what happens.
If you are having a hard time receiving the energy then ask yourself, “what would it feel like if I were to receive?”
If you are out of practice you might not even be aware of how closed off your energy is, so imagine how it would feel and how would you feel if you were to allow the universal energy to surround you with love.
Don’t give up if you don’t feel it right away.
Give yourself the homework of doing this for 30 days.
You might have resistance to it at first, but I promise it will be rewarding if you stick with it.
Let me know how it is going for you.
Welcome to The Third Chakra! The land of personal power!
In Sanskrit The Third, or Solar Plexus Chakra is called Manipura which means “shining gem.”
The Third Chakra is located at your solar plexus it is yellow in color and is represented by the element of fire.
This “shining gem” is the center of your personal power, the center of your willpower, self-esteem, self-discipline, integrity and honor.
You can think of the Third Chakra as your own personal energy center that is 100% dedicated to you and your relationship with yourself.
How cool is that?!
Charka’s are powerful, they are the Seed of your emotions– and when you are in tune with your present emotional, physical and mental state you are able to pinpoint exactly what Chakras are out of balance and in need of some serious TLC.
For instance, when The Third Charka is out of balance this will manifest as destructive patterns in your behavior, such as, the need for excessive control, indecisiveness, lack of follow through a sense of ‘giving up’ on one selves goals and determinations.
A balanced third chakra, however, brings about confidence, drive, emotional and mental balance and focus and desire to achieve goals and intentions.
Now- what the heck do you do if any of the above applies to you?
How do you find balance and shift some of the negative emotions you’re experiencing into positive… well my friends, Keep Calm and Keep Reading!
Previously while discussing The Second chakra I asked you to list what gives you joy, doing this exercise allowed your mind and your body to connect with the physical frequency of feeling joy.
You were able to pinpoint exactly what brings you joy- and from this exercise you were able to physically feel joy in your body, more specifically, in your second chakra.
Now as we begin the journey of connecting with The Third Chakra, I am asking you to take things one step further and to get comfortable with the notion of putting yourself first to give yourself joy.
* Do I love myself?
* How much do I love myself?
* What does it mean to love myself?
* How does it feel to love myself?
Ask yourself what needs to happen in this exact moment to feel better….
* What do I need right now to take care of myself?”
* A nap?
* How about going for a walk?
* Do I need to choose healthier foods to eat?”
These might feel like very selfish things to think and to ask of yourself… but trust me they’re not!
We were taught to be humble and to put others before ourselves, but the reality is you must put yourself first when it comes to taking care of yourself.
As the story goes, you cannot heal, or help anyone if you are not whole first.
Nobody else is going to make sure you have all your needs met, that is your job.
Besides if you continue to put everybody else’s needs before your own then eventually you will have no energy to take care of them or yourself.
Or worse you will get sick.
I encourage you to take a moment and appreciate all that you are and all that you have done.
Erase the pattern of being hard on yourself for past mistakes a few Mantras I love to use in my day-to-day life:
* I forgive myself, I did that best I could with the information I had at the time.
* What if I loved and valued myself?’
* What if I had enough energy and joy to follow my dreams?
* Every day I am learning to love myself more and more.
While reciting these mantras either out loud or in your head, try placing your hands on your solar plexus, take a breath and notice what love and appreciation feels like.
Now have your next choice be based on what is best for you.
Every day I make choices that support my health and well-being.
Beginner’s Guide to the Sacral Chakra, the Seed of our Emotions
What brings you joy?
Can you create a list of 10 things that make you happy?
These can be big things or little things just as long as they’re focused on your own
Not what brings someone else happiness, but what makes your spine tingle and the
corners of mouth turn up. True, blissful, laugh out-loud, cannot sit still kind of
Know your intuitive Center
Now I invite you to sit with this question for a moment, really let it sink in.
There are no right or wrong answers, however, your ability to pinpoint and clearly
find what brings you happiness will shed light on whether or not your second chakra
is in need of some love and attention.
If this is a hard question for you to answer, then you need some work in your sacral
What is the Sacral Chakra?
The Sacral chakra, also known as your second chakra, is about joy, creativity, and
It is our relationship with others.
The first chakra is our relationship to our tribe and our first family, but our second
chakra is our one on one relationships.
It is Orange in color and it is located a couple inches below your belly button on the
front and at your low back on the back of your body.
The second chakra is also the heart of your intuitive center.
When you can bring your consciousness down into your second chakra and you ask
yourself questions, you will be able to receive information based on what your body
wants (intuition) and not on what your head wants, which is usually ego driven.
Find flow in your second chakra
Here is another creative way of getting into your second chakra.
Find a quiet moment to sit with no distractions.
Place your hand on your lower abdomen and take a deep breath.
Now image an empty room that lives in your second chakra.
This is no ordinary room it is a creative space, a place that is all yours.
No one else goes into this room.
* What is in this room?
* What kind of light fills the room?
* Are there big tables to create?
* Are there art supplies?
* Maybe there is open space to move around in?
* Is there a bed to rest?
* Are there lots of colors?
* Can you see the sky from inside?
* Maybe the room has no walls?
This room can expand as needed, again it is only your room, your safe, creative space.
Spend some time here and allow your mind to open up to new possibilities.
The more time you spend in your second chakra the more you will open your intuitive center.
Have fun with this!
In the comments section below, I would love to hear your top 10 list of what brings
you joy or just share what’s in your creative room.
The first chakra is one of the most important chakras to pay attention to.
We are spiritual beings in a human body.
I get that it is more fun floating around and not handling your life and your body, but if we do not
pay attention to our body and we do not ground our energy then it is hard to manifest things in our
It is harder to create health, it is harder to find joy and harder to be intuitive.
When I as in my 20’s I started my massage business.
As an intuitive healer, I knew I was empathic, but I did not know really what that meant or how it
I would often get anxious when I was working, and I started having unusual body symptoms, very
similar to what my clients were experiencing, which was a sign that I had bad boundaries and that I
was taking on other people’s issues.
Then one day a healer told me that I was energetically walking 6 inches off the ground, so I started
doing grounding exercises. I also started to pay attention to how my body felt after a session
compared to how it felt before the session.
This is all first chakra stuff.
Get grounded. Trust your intuition.
Our First chakra is about our first family, our tribe.
It is red in color.
It is located at the perineum, which is the pelvic floor muscle.
The emotional health of the first chakra is your ability to heal the relationship to your first family.
Any physical symptoms from your hips down, corresponds to the First chakra.
Doing grounding exercises is a wonderful way to bring energy into your First chakra. Grounding
your body is when you take the energy in your body and focus its connection to the earth.
Otherwise known as intuitive healing.
Intuitive healing can be done by imagining tree roots coming from your feet and going down into
the earth, taking a deep breath, and bringing your attention to your feet, feeling the weight of your
body on your sit bones as you sit in your chair or walking bare foot outside.
All of these bring your energy and attention down from your head and into your body.
* To decrease anxiety, ground.
* To manifest, ground.
* To increase your intuition, ground.
Get out of your head and into your body. We seem to search for answers outside of ourselves when
all the answers are inside of us.
All information comes through your body, so when you learn to listen to the messages from your
body you will be able to decipher what is best for you, leading you to greater ease and flow with
As an intuitive healer, I find that this is a great mantra for the First chakra:
“Every day I realize the real beauty of my family and celebrate our unique qualities.”

Bonus – Tips for getting grounded:
First, take a deep breath.
Then, choose one of the following:
1. Inhale through your nose, then feel the breath go down your spine and down to the earth as you
2. While standing, bring your attention to your feet on the ground. Imagine tree roots coming out
from the bottom of your feet and going into the earth.

Choose one way to bring your attention to your body and its connection to the earth. Then allow
your body to relax. Imagine the stress and tension from your body going down into the earth to be
The important part is feeling the connection to the earth and allowing the support to be there for

your intuition. I would love to hear how it worked for you by leaving your comments below.
Have fun getting in your body!!
To begin with, everything is energy. And everything has a vibration.
We learn about this in science class.
We are made up of atoms. They are made from protons, neutrons and electrons that
are constantly swirling around each other, so on this sub atomic level nothing is
truly solid, not the chair we are sitting on, the floor we walk on… or our bodies.
When I am talking about energy I am not talking about a great big mysterious thing.
I am talking about a very ordinary thing that we have lost our connection to.
We take for granted the electricity we use, the Internet, and light, all of which are
All of this energy is around us and in us and when we start to have a personal
relationship with it then we are able to determine when something is good or bad for us.

corresponds to specific areas of the body.
Be aware of your Energy
Since everything is energy, when a thought or a person comes towards you, the
energy from that thought or person starts to come closer and closer and as it does, it
enters into your energy and you start to interpret the energy from the thought or
If you have no connection with your own energy system then you will just react to
the thought energy, but if you pay attention to how the thought or person changes
your energy then you can decide weather or not you even want to interact with the
thought or person.
You have a choice.
For example, when you get up in the morning and you have a practice of paying
attention to your body, then you check in: ‘How do I feel today, how does my energy
You might say something like, ’Today I notice that I have a slight headache, and I’m a
little tired, but my chakras feel balanced.’
Then you go to work and a coworker walks in the room and you immediately notice
that you feel a pressure on your head and you think, ‘I wasn’t’ feeling that before, I
wonder what is going on with this person? I better listen to them before I react.’
As you listen you notice the pressure in your head release and then you notice that
the coworker looks more relaxed. So, you didn’t do anything, but notice and choose
an appropriate response. If you had reacted when they walked in, then you might
have thought that they were upset with you.
I am energy. You are energy. If we challenge ourselves to be mindful of our energy
flowing to and from one another we can all achieve a more loving and peaceful
coexistence with each other and within ourselves.
